If you haven’t already seen all of the hype about the new movie Wicked that came out on November 22nd, you must be living under a rock! Wicked is directed by Jon M. Chu, who has also directed movies such as In The Heights and Crazy Rich Asians. The movie stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were casted as the two main characters, Glinda and Elphaba. Recently, Wicked interviews and the Wicked premieres have been all over Instagram, Tiktok, and X. People are so ecstatic about this movie that they are even digging up old tweets as well of Ariana Grande because she has always said that her dream role was to play Glinda in Wicked which is a pretty big role. This has made many congratulate and give her some appreciation on how far she has come. Wicked’s sponsoring has sparked plenty of excitement from others to see how the movie will be and if it is worth all of the hype. The cast said that it was a hardworking project and that they put their all into this film. It was even said that the film had to be split into two because the director had to pause directing and then come back to finish. This has overall been the most exciting I have seen people be for a movie this year. 2024 was a great year for movies and the box office in general, so I am eager to see how this movie will do. I am personally too excited to see what Wicked has to bring, what it offers, and how others will react to the movie as well.
