On March 25, 2025, the Golden State Warriors faced off against the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The Heat took control early, dominating the game from the start and ultimately winning 112-86. The game was a big deal for several reasons, especially with the storyline surrounding Jimmy Butler’s return to Miami. Butler, who had been traded to the Warriors just a month ago, received a warm reception at first but was met with jeers from the crowd as the game went on. It was a strange atmosphere, considering how beloved Butler was during his time in Miami. But basketball is business, and fans were unafraid to express their mixed feelings. The Warriors were missing their star player, Stephen Curry, who is nursing a pelvic injury. Without Curry, the Warriors’ offense struggled to find a rhythm. They shot poorly, managing just 39.8% from the field and an even worse 23.7% from three-point range. It was clear that without Curry’s leadership and shooting prowess, they did not have enough to keep up with Miami. On the other hand, the Heat were in a better position, especially from beyond the arc. They shot an impressive 68% from three-point range, with Bam Adebayo leading the charge, putting up 27 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Tyler Herro also stepped up, contributing 20 points and 7 assists. It was rookie Kel’el Ware who also made a mark, recording a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Heat’s offense was firing on all cylinders, and the Warriors just couldn’t keep up. For Golden State, Andrew Wiggins was the standout player in Curry’s absence, Wiggins put up 10 points, five rebounds, and three blocks but was visibly frustrated with the way the game was slipping away from his team. The loss further hurt the Warriors' playoff hopes, while Miami’s strong performance helped them solidify their spot in the Eastern Conference standings. The game served as a reminder of how different these two teams have been since the trade. Miami was clicking on all cylinders, and Golden State had yet to find a way to replace the leadership of Curry, with their poor shooting and unforced turnovers showing just how tough their situation is. The Heat’s win was a huge confidence boost as they continue to push toward securing a top spot in the East.
