Super Bowl Sunday

On February 9th, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles faced off in the Super Bowl to determine who would become the champions. Many people believed that this game would be an extremely close and entertaining game to watch, especially since both teams have had a great season. Kansas City was looking to be the first team to win 3 consecutive Super Bowls and make NFL history, while the Eagles were looking to prove their dominance and make sure that the Chiefs didn’t beat them again in a Super Bowl.

If you were a Kansas City Chiefs fan, let's just say it was a long night for each and every one of us. It seemed as if the Chiefs team that went undefeated for almost the entire season forgot how to play the game; it was the worst game I’ve seen them play all season long. The amazing players that make up the franchise, like Patrick Mahomes, Isaiah Pacheco, and Travis Kelce, in my opinion, had a terrible game. Patrick was getting sacked the entire game, threw 2 interceptions, and all in all couldn’t make a spectacular play that night. Travis Kelce just couldn’t catch the football AT ALL, while Pacheco didn’t rush to his full ability. Because of the lack of intensity, energy, and effort, the Chiefs went scoreless up until about 30 seconds to end the 3rd quarter.

The Philadelphia Eagles played their best and showed viewers that they weren’t going out without a fight. They played great defense throughout the whole game, which allowed their rookie cornerback, Cooper DeJean, to score his first touchdown off of a pick 6. The Eagles had an amazing offensive game, scoring 24 points in the first half and ending the game with 40 points total.

Kansas City was able to score a few more points, making the final score 22-40, with the Eagles taking home the trophy. For the Eagles fan base, this was most likely a great game, but for the Chiefs fan or anybody who was just tuning in to watch, they could definitely say it was boring. I do wish the Chiefs could have played their best so that this game could have been remotely close and enjoyable. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, their hopes for a 3-peat will have to wait, as for the Eagles, they are most likely looking to go back-to-back.
