The SkillsUSA 2025 State Conference was a memorable experience for everybody who attended, myself included. The weekend was filled with diligent students, fierce competitions, and many incredible moments shared between attendees. However, while competitions were completed, fun was had, and memories were made, the main goal of the state conference is the opportunity to place on the podium for your respective event and move onto the national competition that takes place in Atlanta in June. Dozens of Mayfair competitors worked tirelessly to complete their events, and while these competitions were definitely tough, there were Mayfair students that were able to advance to the next stage! Below are the individuals that have overcome the odds and will continue on to compete in the National SkillsUSA Leadership Conference during the summer:

Gold Medalists

  • Outstanding Chapter: Roman Diaz (11th), Daisy Teniente (10th), Maximo Ramos (9th)

  • Chapter Display: Kyi Phyu Aung, Karina Mercado, Alyssa Pau (11th)

Silver Medalists

  • Extemporaneous Speaking

    • Middle School: Marina Felix (8th)

    • High School: Namanpreet Bains (11th)

These students worked hard throughout the winter to qualify for the state competition and even more so during the actual state competition. Despite the hundreds of schools that attended this competition, our Monsoons still found a way to come out on top, and this is what they have to show for it. Good luck during Nationals, Monsoons! Bring it home!
