Outfits of the Week

Writer: Olivia JenningsOlivia Jennings

For this week's outfits of the week, I thought it would be interesting to showcase the diversity of fashion style introduced at Mayfair High School. Fashion style can be seen as an art form, a way for people to showcase their uniqueness and personality in a way without words. Expressing yourself through fashion can be a fun and creative way to convey your identity.

Skyla Keo

Appearing in Skater Streetwear, Skyla can be seen wearing baggy light-washed Empyre jeans with a white studded belt from Pacsun and Adidas shoes. The black long-sleeve top is from H&M, layered over a thrifted white undershirt.

Sophia Dio

Sofia has more of a soft coquette style. In this outfit, she can be seen wearing light-washed, low-rise bootcut jeans paired with a white babydoll top. She’s also wearing an oversized black leather jacket with a bow necklace to top it all off.

Robi Thompson

This student's outfit appears to give their own take on a goth style. Robi thrifts most of their clothes, so almost everything in this outfit is thrifted. This outfit features a black corset layered on top of a dark Hello Kitty shirt. A studded black belt appears alongside their ripped black jeans with personalized patches. For accessories, black heeled boots and silver jewelry necklaces paired with a black studded choker.

Violet Easter

Giving their own take on Y2K fashion, Violet can be seen wearing a blue sweater top from Abercrombie & Fitch, with a red plaid sweater bought from Walmart. The jeans under the skirt are light-washed blue with Converse shoes. Accessorized with a chunky red heart necklace.

Jacob Villegas

Appearing in a layered skater style, with most of his outfit being thrifted, Jacob can be seen wearing baggy black jeans paired with a studded black belt. He’s also wearing a Y2K baggy dark grey shirt with stars along the side layered on top of a baggy white long-sleeve shirt. Both the dark grey shirt and studded belt were bought from a vendor at the Long Beach flea market.
