Our first assembly was successful! ASB worked diligently putting that assembly together. Many students gathered together such as Cheer, Colorguard, Band, Boys Football, and students who signed up to participate in the games. The games that were being played at the assembly were Hungry Hungry Hippos, Hula Hoop, Tiki Torches, and Tic-Tac-Toe. Following those events, the mascots, Mr. and Mrs. Monsoon, arrived at the gym and put on a show. They were dancing to a hula song and waving their hands and hips to the sway of the song. Suddenly, Mr. Monsoon had a change of heart and he decided to push Mrs. Monsoon over, and the poor, heartbroken Mrs. Monsoon fell and sat on the ground while he ran around the gym and kept pushing her down.
During this event, the Cheer team and Colorguard made appearances as they performed with enthusiasm. All of them were in sync and doing great! In the end, the ASB team even brought back the amazing alma mater to gather together with the ASB team and Cheer Team in a circle. If you did not know, the alma mater has been a Mayfair tradition for many years but stopped due to COVID-19, but ASB is in progress of bringing it back this year and making a comeback. They are making efforts to unite every Monsoon and make them feel and believe in school spirit. I think ASB did a spectacular job with that!
Overall, the assembly was an event of many surprises and exciting performances to entertain students and revive their pride of being a Mayfair Monsoon! We are excited to witness what future assemblies ASB will prepare for us next.
