Next Stop the World Series: Dodgers Win the NLCS

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on their way to becoming world champions after the recent win over the New York Mets in the NLCS (National League Championship Series). The Dodgers are set to take on the New York Yankees in the world series to determine who will become the MLB champions. The Dodgers won the 2020 world series and are looking to bring another banner to LA.

During the Dodgers NLDS (National League Division Series) the Dodgers played the San Diego Padres. With a lot on the line, this was definitely a very heated series between the two teams. The Padres were a tough opponent for the Dodgers, however, they were able to bring the series back to LA to win Game 5 at home which allowed them to play in the NLCS with the New York Mets. The Dodgers took Game 6 with a win of 10-5. Now the Dodgers are on the way to the World Series.

It is no doubt that with the Dodgers signing Shohei Ohtani to a 700 million dollar contract for 10 years, they were going to become a more successful team. Shohei stands alone to be the only major leaguer to have 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. He has made a huge impact on the Dodgers' motivation to win. When it becomes clear that the Dodgers have lost momentum to keep playing the game, Ohtani rips out a home run to get the adrenaline going for the team. He has truly become a fan-favorite amongst the fans this season. It's clear that his presence is surely a real reason why the team has such success this season. As a result, the Dodgers became first place in their league and finished their season with a record of 98 wins and 64 losses.

The Dodgers are just a few more wins away to a championship title. LA has high hopes that the Dodgers will win the series and prove that LA is definitely the best.
