On Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, I was able to attend the Los Angeles vs. Miami Heat NBA game. Unfortunately for me, I wanted the Heat to win, but the Lakers took the win on their home floor. Even though my preferred team didn’t win, nothing could bring me down because I had an amazing night.
To start off the night, my mom and I had great seats, 14 rows from the court behind Miami Heat’s team bench. While a few players were warming up, my mom suggested that we go to the bottom of the seats to see if any one of them would wave at us and to wait for my personal favorite player, Jaime Jaquez Jr., to come out of the locker room. Some of the workers saw us waiting, and my mom explained why we weren’t in our original seats, and they were kind enough to invite me to the floor, at the end of their tunnel, to high-five all the players as they ran onto the court. This completed the night for me, especially because I was able to high-five Jaime Jaquez Jr.
A little before tipoff, I was very ecstatic when I heard that Jaime’s name was called when the Heat announced their starters for the game. Even though I’m not really a Laker fan, it was still pretty cool to see LeBron James play in person for sure, especially because he was a part of the Heat’s team years back. For most of the game, it was clear that the Miami Heat were going to win, but towards the end of the third quarter, the Lakers were back in it. I am a huge fan of close games, so I definitely enjoyed the close fourth quarter. Unfortunately for me, the Lakers couldn’t seem to miss, so they were able to walk away with a victory of 117-108.
