If you attended our Homecoming game on Friday, there’s no doubt that you didn’t have a great time. Not only did our Monsoons take the win over La Mirada, our homecoming queen was crowned during halftime. Last Friday was definitely a game that nobody wanted to miss and was most likely the highly-anticipated game of the year.
To celebrate homecoming, our school had an assembly to announce the homecoming court for each class. Instead of announcing the senior king and queen during the assembly, they created suspense and announced the queen at the Homecoming game and the king at the homecoming dance.
The Color Guard created a tunnel for the homecoming court to walk through. The court’s family members were by their side while they walked onto the stage. Each girl was granted a box and the box could have either been filled with white balloons or blue balloons, and if your box had the blue balloons you were the homecoming queen. Asia Lee was voted as the homecoming queen and was carted around the field with her mother. It was clear that she and her family were excited to have heard her name be called. Everyone celebrated Asia’s win with lots of hugs and many photos to remember the night. The rest of the court was very supportive towards Asia and congratulated her.
Whether you were watching the game, hanging out with friends and family, or waiting for the queen to be announced it surely was a great night. These types of events bring the students together and make each and everyone of us proud to be a monsoon!
