This year’s fall sports assembly was a smashing success! There was Boys’ Football, Girls’ Tennis, Girls’ Golf, Flag Football, Cross Country, and Girls’ Volleyball. All sports in season were told by the ASB teacher, Mrs. McAndrew, that they had to perform a short dance at the assembly. Everyone did a great job of choreographing a quick dance for the assembly considering they are very busy while we are in season, especially ASB and their surprise dance to the Dallas Cowboys thunderstruck dance. Then, Mr. Diaz,our proud principal, also mentioned the school shooting threats and how they are affecting the students and their attendance. There have been many threats about shootings and pulling fire alarms and he stated how it is illegal and could possibly result in suspension. After his brief appearance, Mrs. Monsoon and Mr. Monsoon made a surprise appearance when Mr. Monsoon asked Mrs. Monsoon out to homecoming! She gladly said yes as she ran off happily with Mr. Monsoon. Mrs. McAndrew then recognized our senior student athletes and gave out candy bars of their choice to show recognition to them. That is also when we revealed our official homecoming theme which is “Around the World”. It was also announced that the tickets will be going on sale on September 23rd and to purchase it quickly due to the increasing prices every week. Additionally, they announced that the homecoming dance is on October 19th. We then played a few games which quickly became competitive. The first sports assembly of the year was an assembly to remember.
