Dear Margot,
"I'm having problems managing my time between assignments! Since I began my junior year, I feel like I'm going to collapse from all of the homework, quizzes, tests, and such! I even tried to join more clubs and I feel like I’m about to explode!! What should I do? Is all of my hard work going to pay off?"
Hey, that is a great question! I understand school can be really difficult, especially your junior year, but don't worry. I have a bunch of reasons to answer your question on why it is important to continue to stay on top of your assignments, and why it is going to pay off in the long run. There are five skills that can be achieved:
Self discipline - When doing good in school and staying on top of yourself, you learn how to be disciplined. Doing good with classwork and homework, make you prepared to meet deadlines, and be disciplined with yourself academically.
Time management - Time management comes with great discipline and learning how to stay on top of your school work, while also being able to juggle different extracurriculars.
Future life - When doing badly in high school, and having failing grades, it gives you less of a chance of getting into a good college, and makes your living situation difficult for the future. In this economy, many cannot afford to have low wages, and commonly go into poverty, due to lack of education.
Success - Typically working hard and being able to create good habits in your working space, will make you a very successful person which is what everyone wants.
Opportunities - Getting good grades will give you more opportunities, and allow you to participate in more activities, in and outside of school.
