A Fond Farewell to Mrs. Kim Milot: Mayfair High School´s Beloved Executive Secretary Retires

After nearly two decades of dedicated service, Mrs. Milot, Mayfair’s longtime executive secretary, has retired. Known for her unwavering support, kindness, and cheerful smile, Mrs. Milothas left an indelible mark on the school community. Her journey with Mayfair began in August 2006, and since then, she has been a constant presence, providing steadfast support to both students and staff.

When asked about the highlights of her career, Mrs. Milot shared two memorable achievements. “I got classified as Employee of the Year this past year,” she said with pride, “and I also got Mayfair’s Employee of the Year four years ago.” These accolades were a testament to her dedication and the deep appreciation her colleagues and students felt for her contributions.

Building strong relationships with students and staff was at the heart of Mrs. Milot’s work. She approached her role with openness and a genuine willingness to help. “I think you have to be able to be open to what they need,¨ she explained. “A smile on your face, listen to students' needs—if you see them having a bad day, you try to put a smile on their face.” Her care extended to the teachers as well. “Teachers, you help them out. If you can, you help them. You know, being the secretary here, they do a lot of purchasing. I made sure they had what they needed so they could be successful while teaching.” Her empathy and proactive support were key in making her a beloved figure at the school.

As for retirement, Mrs. Milot has exciting plans ahead. “I'm hoping to travel,” she shared enthusiastically. But, first, she will be taking on a special new role as a nanny to her three-month-old grandson. When asked about her travel dreams, Italy topped her list. ¨I love Italy!¨ she said. She also looks forward to exploring more of Hawaii and traveling across the United States, eager to see parts of the country she hasn't visited.

Mrs. Milot’s impact on Mayfair High School will be long remembered. Her warmth, dedication, and cheerful spirit made the school a brighter place for everyone. As she embarks on this new chapter, the Mayfair community extends heartfelt thanks and best wishes for a retirement filled with joy, adventure, and family.
