The Discovery of Six New Bats
Recently six new bat species were discovered just days before Halloween. The bats were discovered in several different forests on islands in the Philippines. The first species, being Murina Alvarezi, was discovered in the protected forest of Mount Kampalili-Puting Bato. Whilst the other species were hidden in plain sight, researchers were a bit shocked to find out that they were only a couple feet away from areas that were heavily researched. It meant they had only done a vag

Meet Dr. Simon, Bellflower Unified School District's Newest Superintendent!
Introducing the new superintendent, Dr. Erin Simon! I had the honor of interviewing her here at Mayfair, and I think we are in the hands of an amazing leader. Dr. Simon was born in South Central Los Angeles and raised by a single, college-educated mother and her two maternal grandparents, all of which shaped her to be the very person she is today. They have taught her that being excellent is not just a word; it's a way of life. Dr. Simon has new ideas for the Bellflower Uni

Dear Margot: Wanting To Be Closer with Cousin
Dear Margot, “I really love my family & I like them all equally but my cousin who I’ve known for years is like my best friend, which doesn’t feel like enough. Should I do anything about this or talk to them about how I feel?” First, I think that it's normal to want to have a closer relationship with your cousin. Having a close-knit or a great connection with your cousin is something that you should be grateful for, and not ashamed or confused about. Keeping a close bond wit

Opening up to those people and potentially risking the way they view you as a person is something incredibly fearful, but there are a few different ways we can open up to those people and make it a less fearful experience for you.
